Who Am I Makeup Masterclass: A Transformational Beauty Experience by Ivonne Mendoza
When I set out to create my first Seattle makeup masterclass, I knew it needed to be more than a class. It needed to carry meaning. It needed to reflect not only my artistry, but my story.
Over the years, I’ve experienced many moments of questioning who I am. Moments that required me to pause, rebuild, and rediscover myself. Through those seasons, I came to understand something that ultimately shaped this masterclass.
There is a point in many women’s lives where they feel disconnected from themselves. In those moments, the act of getting ready—washing your face, sitting down at your vanity, applying makeup—can become something much deeper than routine. It becomes a quiet return. A way to reconnect, to regain confidence, and to feel a sense of control again.
This realization became the foundation of my masterclass, “Who Am I.”
The Meaning Behind “Who Am I”
This Seattle makeup masterclass was intentionally held on March 24th, my father’s birthday. Choosing this date was deeply personal. Losing my father impacted my life in ways that continue to shape me, but he also gave me one of my greatest gifts—my love for art.
Honoring him through this experience allowed me to step more fully into my own identity as both an artist and a woman. It became a reminder that while life may shape us, it does not define us. We always have the ability to evolve into who we are meant to be.
The name “Who Am I” reflects that journey. It is a question I have asked myself many times, and one I know resonates with so many women.
A Masterclass Rooted in Artistry and Experience
While the masterclass included professional makeup education and hands-on learning, the experience extended far beyond technique. My goal was to create an environment where women could not only refine their skills, but also feel seen, supported, and inspired.
The day itself was more powerful than I could have anticipated. It was emotional, empowering, and deeply meaningful. Each woman brought her own story into the space, and together, we created something that felt both intimate and transformative.
This Seattle makeup masterclass would not have been possible without the incredible support of our sponsors and vendors, who contributed their time, talent, and energy to bring this vision to life.
Looking Ahead
This masterclass marked the beginning of something I hope to continue building—a space where beauty and personal growth intersect.
For me, makeup has always been more than application. It is a form of expression, a source of confidence, and at times, a way to find your way back to yourself.
And if there is one message I hope every woman carries with her, it is this:
You are not defined by your past.
You are allowed to evolve.
And you are always worthy of choosing yourself again.
